Mississippi is the sister of Diamond and Madam and the daughter of our beautiful queen Nami and our handsome sire Gojo. Nami is a gorgeous calico European Maine Coon, while Gojo is a striking black smoke European Maine Coon known for his beautiful blue eyes and impressive appearance.

Together, Nami and Gojo have given us a beautiful litter filled with different colors, markings, and personalities, and we absolutely love watching each kitten develop.

Mississippi Is a Black Smoke Maine Coon

One of the first things you’ll notice about Mississippi is her gorgeous dark coat. Mississippi is a black smoke Maine Coon kitten, and her coloring will continue to become more noticeable as she grows.

Black smoke can sometimes look almost solid black when kittens are very young. However, underneath those dark outer hairs is a much lighter undercoat. When the coat moves or separates, that lighter base creates the beautiful smoky appearance that gives the color its name.

Most kittens are born with blue eyes because pigment development in the iris continues after birth. As they mature, their permanent eye color begins appearing.
