Hello and welcome!
If you’re new to MyGeekTails, I thought it was time to properly introduce ourselves and share a little about the family behind our cattery.
My name is Keila, and I am the proud owner of MyGeekTails Maine Coon Cattery in Houston, Texas. I am also a proud Latina who has always believed that passion, hard work, and honesty can build something truly special.
Alongside me is my husband, a United States Marine Corps veteran who now works as an electrician. Together, we started MyGeekTails because we completely fell in love with the European Maine Coon. Their impressive size, affectionate personalities, intelligence, and majestic appearance captured our hearts from the very beginning.
As we continued learning about European bloodlines, we realized there were very few breeders in our area who focused on preserving the incredible traits that make European Maine Coons so unique. That inspired us to begin our own journey with one simple goal: to responsibly raise healthy, well-socialized European Maine Coon kittens while educating families throughout Houston, Texas, and beyond.
MyGeekTails has never been about producing the most kittens. It has always been about producing quality over quantity.
Every breeding decision we make starts with one question: “Will this improve and preserve the breed?”
That question guides everything we do.
Being an ethical Maine Coon breeder is so much more than pairing two beautiful cats together. It means spending countless hours researching pedigrees, studying genetics, performing health testing, working closely with veterinarians, socializing kittens from birth, and continuing our education so we can provide the very best care possible.
There are no shortcuts when you’re passionate about preserving the European Maine Coon.

One topic that is incredibly important to us is responsible pet ownership, which is why every pet kitten from MyGeekTails includes spay or neuter in the purchase price. We partner with trusted veterinary professionals to ensure this process is completed safely before our kittens join their forever families.
We strongly believe that responsible breeding also means helping prevent accidental litters and protecting the future of this amazing breed. Including spay and neuter allows our families to focus on enjoying their new family member without worrying about arranging the procedure themselves. It’s one more way we strive to give both our kittens and their new owners the best possible start.
Health is another cornerstone of our breeding program.
We carefully select our breeding cats based on health, temperament, structure, and genetics. Our breeding cats undergo appropriate health testing and receive regular veterinary care because we believe prevention is always better than reaction.
Does that mean we can guarantee a perfectly healthy kitten for life?
No.
No ethical breeder can honestly make that promise.
Every kitten is a living being. Just like people, they can encounter illnesses, accidents, allergies, or health conditions throughout their lives. Our responsibility is to reduce risks through responsible breeding, proper veterinary care, excellent nutrition, and early socialization—not to make impossible guarantees.
